How amazing! The imagery is amazing. Definitely reminds me of older stuff. By the reaction of Phil Schaffart when the song is done. It sounds like he's still working this song out. He most likely wrote it after they went to Sonic Ranch to record Outer South. Or else I think he would have put it on the CD. Also it looks like he is reading the lyrics. I bet it will come out on an EP soon. Can't wait for a nice studio recording of it! |

Life's not fair. I tried to die young with my true love ended up a millionaire. At least he's not hiding how much money he has. If anyone has seen him on his tour with MVB and seen his bus you'd see hes BALLIN'. I proud of him though. He deserves it. |

This song is very confusing. It's pretty much about Synethesia. There are alot of parts I dont't get though. Synesthesia is a crazy thing though. I experience it every now and then. When I play music on a guitar certain notes or chords are certain colors (C is green G is brown D is yellow). But if im playing piano the colors change. Also colors vary with which octave I am playing them in. I don't experience it too much anymore though. |

I think this song is about a lover that passed away. "Move your slender fingers Help me play this song" He is wanting her "spirit" to help him write the song. Considering it is the first line in the song. The mansion he refers to is the one he recorded his latest material. Including this song. It doesn't matter if he loves her. Shes not there. The next paragraph are memories he had with her. I love the imagery in "Walking down the boardwalk Act like we were married" "Tried to teach me about baseball My favorite was the part when they make it home I like it when they steal, and when they make it home" Hands down the best lines in the song. "You left us with a sorrow too unreal to help Heard the birds sound broadcast speakers at the Phoenix hotel All your friends are standing, crying, on the sidewalk All your boyfriends, they were standing crying on the sidewalk" This sounds like a funeral. "Breezy, I feel dizzy Can you help me up? It's crowded at the back door How we getting to the bus?" Drunken sick at a bar. Wanting to get on his tour bus. "I'd like to help you find it if there's something better Yeah, I'll try and help you find it if there's something better" He'd do anything to help if there was anything he could do. And the last line he relized that it down matter if he loves her because shes still with him. This song is very poetic. I love the imagery he uses. Very sad song. |
