This song is pretty easy to interpret. He struggles with beliefs at the beginning.. but "They say there's nothing, and that I'm foolish to believe so and that it's all inside my head tell me this is what I've waited for" he followed his heart, kept believing, not being influenced, and whoila! he found God. Yes, I could totally relate to this song. |

| Wellllllll.. I am never exactly good at interpreting song lyrics at all.. but I want to believe this song is about death. Just watch the music video (the mother takes her toddler son who is in a comma to a little motel I guess so he doesn't have to die in a hospital-- or having her last few moments with him) and it was so sad. Everytime I hear that song I feel a sense of sadness. I love it. It is my favorite by Modest Mouse. | |
