This song is their best song IMO. It's all about being patient because good things do come in life when you're ready to fight for them. I'm pretty sure it also is about making it into the music business in part too because of the lines "4 o'clock nights with a pen in my mouth A headful of dreams and a handful of doubt" and He Said She Said, but no matter what its about, no song's ever hit home like this one. Every time I hear it I just have to sing along, because when you think about it hard enough, you do have a lot of those "I waited for so long I'm ecstatic" moments coming your way. You just gotta learn to enjoy them :) |

Actually i think this is from the broken up with point of view too (hence the "I see it from a different point of view") The person got over it and finally realized that they're better off without that other person. Or at least that's how I relate to it because I've just been trhough this kind of situation. |

Meh, I might be the only one interpreting it that way, but since I don't believe in god, i tend to search in a deeper meaning to christian band lyrics. TFK rocks, regardless :P So to me, this song's about this family that's falling apart, brother and sister having a hard time, and the parents being less than present for their kids. And the calls are to either/both the mom and dad, because the youngest kid can still get the parents attention and hes telling his parents that they're ignoring the other two... I know that's sketchy at best, but thats the overall feeling I get from the song. Some sort of depiction of society. Lots of people can relate, and the point here is, you gotta believe in your family, ask for help. It doesnt have to be god... It could be pretty much anyone one can rely on. Just replace Jesus' name by that person's name. :) |
