I don't know how credible this is..,but, years ago (many years ago), I had a boyfriend that traveled with Icehouse in Australia...he CLAIMS, the song was written about our breakup. I wanted more than he could give, and they used that as a base to the song...wanting the world, and he could only give what he had to offer....I do know in our parting words he claimed, 'life holds no promises' in regards to a 'perfect life'.... of that, he was right.... |
