to me, this song doesnt really have anything to do with bad childhood experiences ruining stuff, but just like lies and stuff. like "But I won't stop denying ashamed of all the selfish things we did Dropped out of every single friendship that you had They nearly loved you, but you never could have loved somebody back" the first line shows no relationship to like their father leaving. but like i thinks its kind of like oh hey girl, your a like selfish little whore that goes around and hurts people and she'll never get hurt because shes always the one to hurt the other person. |

ah man. this songs soooo sad. especially the part "And you dropped the note and we changed key You changed yourself and I changed me I really didn't see us singing through this Then you screamed the bridge And I cried the verse And our chorus came out unrehearsed Then you smiled the whole way through it I guess maybe that's what's worse" which is my favorite part by the way. but just basically saying how they changed fell apart and it killed him. but even worse then their fall was the fact that she smiled through it. idk. |
