Bears – How To Live Lyrics 16 years ago
All the people you feel held you back will show up again someday, right?
And even though you've moved on, become a better person and are in a good place all the good things that have come to you can make you want to shove them in the face of the people who kept you from them in the first place.

Wolf Parade – Shine a Light Lyrics 16 years ago
This is the least depressing sounding song I've heard by them.
Listening to it I could not get over how different it sounded from the others and it took a while to realize why.
Still I enjoy every second I listen to it.
And the whole "our hearts beat time" is just so how I've always felt.
And the part about not sleeping til it's light was just SO the spring/summer I started listening to them. It affects the way you feel about life doing weird stuff like that for a longish period of time.

Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) Lyrics 16 years ago
It's about the sort of connection you can have with someone when you are viewing things with the same sort of perspective and looking forward to the same future together. Or like even if the windows are far apart you meet in the middle.
And it becomes something else like no one else has is doing. Forgetting all that everyone told you to be or do. Leaving it all behinds kind of sad and lonely and some things become harder to do or whatever.
I feel like everyone goes through this with someone in their life sometime at least. On a very small scale or subtly at least, right? Maybe a little?

Maybe you lose a little bit of who you used to be. Maybe it seems worth it. Maybe it is.
The way I hear it though - this is a sad song.

Modest Mouse – Whenever I Breathe Out, You Breathe In (Positive/Negative) Lyrics 16 years ago
Everything cancels itself out.
It's not about anything any kind of affect. positive and negative which is basically less than nothing.
like yeah it happened and everything happens but it doesn't really mean everything.
The song title kind of brings it together keeps the perspective for the entire song.

and if you relate it to this:
"When you're living your life, well, that's the price you pay"
it's kind of fun to think about, right?

Pixies – Hey Lyrics 16 years ago
ok. This song always reminds me of Atlas Shrugged.
Like Jim when he's talking to his wife. He fact uses the word chained to describe their relationship and tells her that they can't leave each other.
It doesn't have to be about sex. The whole thing about whores I feel is specifically about NOT having sex.
