Cloud Cult – Take Your Medicine Lyrics 17 years ago
Craig Minowa suffered one of the most heart-wrenching losses anyone could imagine- one that could easily ruin a person and cause them to give up. Instead of allowing this situation to ruin his life, he took it for what it was and managed to get through it.

The strength and character that his lyrics reveal amaze me. They're a very real band- they don't sugarcoat pain, but they don't seem to allow themselves to wallow in it either. Their message is awesome. Yea, stuff happens, and it can be horrific, but there's no sense in allowing it to control your life. Face it, deal with it, move on, and be stronger for it.

Awesome, awesome band! This song challenges me beyond words. Seeing this song live was an experience I will never forget!

David Gray – Slow Motion Lyrics 17 years ago
I definitely think this song is about someone close to him dying of an illness. A friend of mine died of cancer *just* before I heard this song, and it was an incredibly long, painful process. When I heard Slow Motion, it clicked with the situation.

"Snowflakes are falling, now you're my long lost friend"- it's beautiful...actually, that entire last verse gets me every time. It shows a change in season. Everything was frozen in time as the person was dying- you get closed off within the walls that the person is bound by and that becomes your reality, but after they died, it's like he realized that life moved on- the seasons change, and it sets in. "You're my long lost friend". Time has truly continued to move- everything is real.

The beginning is pretty somber and very introspective of the situation, but the end...it feels like a triumphant celebration of a beautiful friendship.

One of Gray's finest works- no doubt!
