yeah, they're kinda touchy about the subject, as anyone would be. there's an interview with some idiot guys who jokes around calling them mummy's boys (clearly unaware of their situation) and asks if they ever call their mum to dob on each other. they're both just real quiet and are like 'nah.. that doesn't happen' i felt so bad for them. this song and lullabies (all time low) are the saddest i've ever heard. |

to me this song is about ATL recognising just how important their hometown fans are and them stepping out into the 'big world' and realising they kind of have to do it all over again to gain that same recognition, hence the title 'hometown heroes; national nobodies' 'Win their hearts with words unlike the pages left at home' it's kind of like they have to work even harder now cos they're out of their hometown so to everybody else, they're just nobodies. they've obviously come a long way :) |

erm alex has said this song has a connection to vegas (i would have married you had you given me the chance to say i do) and she didn't die, she's in a plane. my own theory is that it all connects to coffee shop soundtrack (made one year prior to this) the affair, buuut shes married. i think she must have left the state or some crap, cos it seems like he was madly in love with this chick. also, the lyrics indicate that she was more in control in this relationship. he was searching for her, etc. she was pulling on his hand and what not. it just makes her seem older and more mature than he is, which makes me think that it links to coffee shop soundtrack even more. aaand one more thing, then i'll shutup. in vegas at the start he's on tour, then at the end of the song he sings the i would have married you part. maybe he came back from tour and he couldn't find her, which relates back to the calling for her in this song. she ran away cos she just couldn't handle it anymore?? |
