idk. i think this song is more about his fucked up childhood. i think he's the child. and he was different(as they say in MANY of their songs) and his parents had a hard time accepting that so they tried to make him like that. idk maybe i'm not breaking into the song very deep. it kinda remind me of happy feet.....though i'm sure the band shudders that any of their fans might think that. lol reminds me of 3 things. 1 what a woman might feel while she's pregnant. 2 like you said drug addiction. but the band also talks about inner demons alot. being the "evil" side of a person. or maybe its one and three together. lol. " my baby is satan spawn. oh no!" hahaha. sorry, that my twisted humor. omgi miss the brickworks too. i was also at that show. lol. |

| personally i think he's putting on rose colored glasses to the bad thing going on around him. but i do think this is all satire. i think this particular song is him saying " if you don't watch the fire coming for you, you will be left dead" fire coming from and death reference i think he's saying anyone who watches "life" and doesn't live it deserves to "turn blue". you can't just see things the way you want to see them. you need to be a part of making it all better. but thats just how i take it. btw i simply adore the harmony in this song. it gives me chills. maynard is simply glorious! | |
