Radiohead – Anyone Can Play Guitar Lyrics 16 years ago
Naw, what he's saying is anyone can PLAY the guitar, but the real point is to be able to create. When he says I want to be Jim Morrison he's being kind of sarcastic, like yeah if I look like a rockstar-grow my hair long and can play the guitar, then I'm talented. He's criticizing all the people who learn to hit some chords and yell over it and try to become an icon like Morrison thoughtlessly, and I think the people who buy into it as well. Play guitar to play guitar, not to look cool. But Yorke is kind of in the middle of it all- the world's coming to an end and he's just standing on a beach with his guitar... great imagery.

That's just my take, but it's a pretty damn awesome song.

Radiohead – I Can't Lyrics 16 years ago
I randomly just put this song on a playlist one day and realized just how talented Yorke really is. The beauty in this song is its simplicity. By that I don't mean that it is unoriginal, but just that it isn't over the top, especially since a lot of artists tend to turn to when they are singing about lack of confidence, doubt, etc. But this song sounds like something that somebody would actually feel in this situation.
I think this song kind of got overshadowed by Creep. It could've become very popular among casual Radiohead fans (like me). Who knows, maybe it will become big.

Joan Osborne – One Of Us Lyrics 16 years ago
Exe you're wrong about the "small amount" thing. There a ton of religious (not just Christians, people of other religions too) people who try to convert people and there are even more people who have intense distrust of atheists. We're one of the most distrusted groups.
Osborne got a lot of flack for doing this song because God is supposed to be something/someone to honor and worship. He's supposed to be above us little old humans. But I dig this song, not because I am an atheist but because it really challenges what you believe. Maybe there is a god and maybe s/he is one of us, just some random person we pass by without much thought. I mean you could pass him on the road and just be like "who is that weird bum" or "he's kind of cool." And all these people pray to and sing about and worship him, but at the end of the day s/he's just some lonely guy on the bus.
Yeah anyway I don't believe in God. I think it's great if you really believe in some sort of benevolent spirit or something just because you think there is, not out of fear or just for the sake of it, and you don't oppress or hate anyone or picket people because they're different.

For anyone who likes this song, I advise you to check out their other version of this song

I actually prefer it. I downloaded it using an internet program and converted it with another program and now I have it on my computer. I don't like the instrument at 2:15, but in this version it is softened and prettier.

Cloud Cult – Everybody Here Is a Cloud Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song. It's probably disturbing to some people- that we are just particles gathered together and one day we will just break down, but I find it very calming.
We are all the same materials, but we are all different inside and we will find our place on earth before we return to our place in the natural world.

To me, this song has always been about feeling not a part of the society around you. You try to be like other people and spend time with them, but you don't feel like you belong. You are living on the outside of your skin- the real you isn't there. Minowa says to get over it, so what if you are rejected. Your thoughts are different than what you are saying, say what you mean and get through possible rejection.
I dunno, that's just my interpretation.
