In the background of the noise collage, the people are singing June on the West Coast and An Attempt to Tip the Scales. I wonder why, in the Noise Floor album booklet, he say "this is also the only a cappella Bright Eyes in existence, thank god." I think it sounds great, I have no problem with a cappella. |

I kind of wish that they could make this into an actual song. But its nice to have a sample of his poetry that isn't attached to music.
The tone and theme of it reminds me of Breakfast in Bed (on the Dntel album Dumb Luck). |

Ian McElroy is Conor Oberst's cousin; I assume that's who "Ian" in the song is. His brother, Collin McElroy, died around 2000 or 2001. I think he killed himself, but I could be wrong. Maybe "feeling it" is understanding and sharing his grief. But then again, Conor's already written several songs about his cousins, so it could be something different. |

I don't think that the students actually want her to know that she doesn't need to be a teacher, but just by making teaching hard for her they are telling her that. |

Yah, Conor only did main singing on Invite to a Closet. Clark (Baechle) does Invitation to a Closet, She's an Actress, She Teaches Art, My Sick Complainant, Its a Life, and Lachrymose Obsequious Vehement Elated (Sp?!). Neely (Jenkins) does my sick complainant and Lachrymose Obsequious Vehement Elated. Jamie (Williams) does December Snapshots, with back up by Conor. Jen (Bernard) does All Boy Band, which Conor sings in a lot. It kills me that Jen doesn't sing in any other band/song; All Boy Band is one of the best songs ever. Everybody sings on Theme Song.
One Lachrymose, Jamie tap dances for the first time in a song.
