ITS ABOUT THE MOVIE. IT'S PRETTY CLEAR, HE'LL PUT A KNIFE RIGHT IN HER, IN THE BATHROOM. SIMPLE ENOUGH. ABOUT THE SONG, JUST HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE ALBUM. INSTEAD OF START TO SING, HE SAYS: "ONE MORE FUCKING TIME YOU ASSHOLE, AND YOU'RE GONNA DIE" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THEN HE GOES ON WITH THE SONG. |

This song makes me cry. Not for the lyrics. It's hard for me to listen it in We're Outta Here. Last song they played as The Ramones. |

It's a critic to society in general... and they were in the cold war, so "why should all we live in fear", "tell me tell me what's so wrong, if humans just got along", it refers to the constant fear of EE.UU. and Russia blowing everything fucking away. |

Talks about society corrupting people, and as already posted, that you can't trust people. This one still survives. Still, has to deal with all the shit the world has. |

Also never paid attention to the lyrics of this song, I just loved the chorus c'mon!!!!!!
I know The Misfits made songs about movies and stuff, but a really think some of them can have deeper messages. Maybie I'm fucking nuts, but for me, some lyrics are kinda deep.
This one, well I think from the first part I can rescue the part that says: "Vivisected for your magazine essay". Could be read as people staring at the ones who are different, could detect some regret?
OK, that was kinda overcomplicated, but still, could be read like that.
"The part that I really like is the next:
Nazi demons, nazi youth
Wolverines in dark brown suits yea,
They shove you in an oven and you start to cook
Blame it all on nazi youth well"
Talks about nazis. Talks about them kinda insulting them, obviously... but also says "blame it all on the nazi youth". I read that like: "Yeah, they're fucking assholes, but there are some other closer stuff to complaint about, uh?"
That's my point of view. |

ALL THE GUYS WHO WERE ARGUING ABOUT ALL OF THAT SHIT ARE ASSHOLES. LIVE YOUR FUCKING LIFES. SHOW A LITTLE TOLERANCE. HOW CAN'T JUST FUCKING ASK FOR TOLERANCE IF YOU DON'T FUCKING GIVE IT?.
It's about the movie. Could have some kind of secondary message about politics.
Anyway, the song fucking rocks. |

Agree with BananaGeekLord... "they call us walking corpses"... here you don't see much of "fiends" or whatever, but I can imagine, if tomorrow I went out to the street with a Devilock and all painted in white, it would be normal for some assholes to mock right? so yeah, he's refering to that. The song may be related to that episode in England, and in clearly criticizes intolerance from, as I said, some assholes. |

sincerily, I think they were watching some horror film, and they decided to make a song about becoming a martian. It's great when you look into the lyrics of a song, but come on! |

The song... well, it has a great chorus, but the verse isn't that good, at least for me. Anyway, the album "Famous Monsters" is great.
I DO NOT recomend the film. |

Agree with the original band being much better, I definitively prefer the old sound, and probably most of old lyrics too. But I have to say, Graves is better than Danzig in the vocals. Still, I prefer Danzig, his songs are much better than new ones. |

Never saw the George Lucas film, but as I heard, I'm pretty much sure the song is about it. The name of the song is based it the name of the movie (THX 1138). The lyrics of the song coincide with the argument of the film. About the police codes, I'm sure it isn't about it. The rest of the lyrics have nothing to do with it. It's definitively about the film. Short, but really good lyrics. |

| Misfits – Hybrid Moments Lyrics

POSTED BY JaytheCraze: "I was once in a relationship with a girl who was a survivor of sexual assault. It was after several months into this relationship that I heard this song for the first time, and it startled me how deeply this song resonated with some of my most acute sentiments at the time.
To expand on the interpretation discussed by "ihavebrainstew," I believe that The Misfits here are, as elsewhere, using "macabre/horror-genre" lyrics as the poetry of real emotional experience- just like in "Saturday Night" when they conflate a retro vision of taking their lost gal to the drive-in with the persona of the slasher-flick murderer depicted on film...
In my experience, the "hybrid moment" is when the horror of past experience floods into the present, forming a hybrid experience in which one relives past pain even while trying to thrive in the present. So, the singer is reaching out to the woman he loves, telling her that he understands why sometimes she has panic attacks or breakdowns or hysterias or post-traumatic crises even, and perhaps especialy, during some of their most intimate moments, but to please, please not lose sight of him right there. Hence his reminder that "moments like this never last" and his plea: "In hybrid moments, give me a moment."
I'm sure there's a lot of painful life situations besides the one mentioned above that would cause "strange creatures" to occasionally open up the door to buried dimensions and take posession of our faces, bodies, and feelings, even against our will or our desire to heal."
Agree with everything. It's definitivily a love song, at least for me, and the girl has something dark in her past. Maybe not a sexual assault, but something. Apart from that, same thing as JaytheCraze said.
What's cool about this song is that it is pretty much opened for you to understand it the way you want or simply do. Unless Danzing went to your house and told you what he was thinking about when he wrote it, you will never be sure. |
