| The Dig – You’re already gone Lyrics

This song is obviously about a guy seeking a one night stand. He doesn't want anything long term or committed (I don't wanna make you stay, I just wanna hear you say goodnight again") he only wants her because "There's nobody else to love tonight." |

they ARE undeniably a Christian band in one sense. not because they constantly sing praise music, but they have Christian band members. They are signed to tooth and nail Records: a record company that only signs bands with Christian band members. I don't see why it matters so much to people if a band is Christian. If you are a true fan, no matter how atheistic or rebellious, you shouldn't care. People take inspiration for songs from many sources, and from lyrics I've read from bands like Thrice, the Classic Crime and the Receiving End of Sirens, that source is often faith or the Bible. |

you know the reason why this song is so catchy is because they tuned their guitars down ever so slightly. that way its different, but still melodic, you know that there's something special about it that makes it stick but the tuning is not so drastic that you can't figure out what it is. they're messing with our minds but I love them anyway. When I saw them in Philly they dedicated a song to all the garden hoses out there. |

| Envy on the Coast – Starving Your Friends Lyrics

this song can be interpreted a lot of ways, what I initially got out of it is that its about trying to please everyone, and feeling like no matter what you do you screw up. It's just a list of self critical statements. About feeling pressured. "everyone's ears are watching me" is a confession that he is paranoid, "thinking strictly blues and reds" being narrow minded and stubborn. "I feel terribly small when my head works to hard when you think with your chest there's not a thing that you don't see." When he really thinks about all the crap he's said and done, and his personality he doesn't like himself and he feels like a lowly human being. and when he doesn't rationalize his actions, his heart tells him that he is wrong and needs to change. "I'm hardly capable of half the damage I would like to do" He is vengeful and wishes bad things upon people but is incapable of actually confronting them. " I could swear that I don't care but you know I'm too full of s*** to think this through." He fights and hurts other people verbally, saying that he doesn't care, but it kills him inside that he is so impulsive. "I pray to God but curse too much to be considered true." He feels that not even God can forgive him. |

| Dear and the Headlights – Saintly Rows (Oh Oh) Lyrics

This song is about feeling intimidated by the austerity of the church and its traditions. "Drooling vibrations in an empty room" suggests that the singer feels that even though everyone in the church is singing or chanting, that their is no meaning in it for them, and their worship is almost mechanical. "paranoia posed in saintly rows" is the idea that the congregation worships out of fear instead of passion. |

I love that TREOS is intelligent, and that their lyrics actually have literary merit and use poetic devices. It's good to know that there is still music out there that takes a knowledge of the english language and creative substance to craft. Most of popular music these days is just vapid nonsense |

| Dear and the Headlights – Willetta Lyrics

Yeah, Willetta is definitely about coming home for a funeral, and the woman telling her friends not to be sad but to celebrate. The singer still knows that he can't celebrate and that his life will never be the same. This entire album is about the death of a loved one, and a scorn for the church and the somber traditions that the person encounters when he comes home for the service. |
