A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics 17 years ago
I prefer to think of it as "Pay no mind to the Rebel." I think that's what it is anyway.

It's the idea that you shouldn't trust someone just because they say they have it under control. You have to make sure. Take it into your own hands. Then again it could just be someone trying to protect the one they love from the horrors of the world. Oh well.

Lil' Wayne – I Feel Like Dying Lyrics 17 years ago
It's about getting so high on so many different drugs that you feel like it's an endless ascent into ecstacy. And when you come down you look around and realize that that feeling is gone, and then you start thinking about everything that's gone wrong or could go wrong or is going wrong, and it turns into an endless trail of paranoia and depression that you're causing just by thinking. The obvious solution is to do more drugs or die. And when you can't get any all you want to do is die. Obviously.

As for you people saying the song is 'eerie', you clearly do not know how it feels to be in that position. Not accusing you of anything, just saying. I find it to be a beautiful song that reveals the thoughts of someone who is clearly on drugs as he writes. The first time I heard it I was high, and the way the song is setup sent me into a trail of words and knowledge that I didn't even know I had, because it was knowledge that I had read about and just forgotten. But even though I couldn't confirm it, I knew that it was all true, and as I analyzed my own thought process I reeled out all sorts of randomized thoughts that were connected only in a third section of my brain that was operating independently of the other two. I had so many thought processes going that I eventually forgot what I was thinking about and just wanted to listen to the song.

Rise Against – Re-Education (Through Labor) Lyrics 17 years ago
What does this song mean to me? It means that people who listen to it need to get off their asses and do something about the problems rather than listening to the music and saying things to their friends about how they're anarchists or how terrible the conditions in the world are. At the very least, spread your views to someone else. The point of the video is that if people refuse to peacefully rise, then eventually a more radical group of pissed off anarchists is going to rise and take over the job. And we don't want that. We need to force them to listen peacefully, because that is what an anarchist really is. A person preaching justice and peace.

Quit moping around trying to get your opinion in on it to other people who listen to the song, just spread your view to people who don't know it. And do it intelligently, not 'You're such an idiot for not caring what happens in this election.' Make them see why they should care. If you get in an argument with some racist ass hole make the people around you see what an ass hole he is but keep the 'moral highground.' You look better he looks worse.

A Perfect Circle – Blue Lyrics 17 years ago
People seem to forget the part 'such a lovely color for you.' Personally, I think that, yes, it is about drug addiction in a friend. 'I didn't want to know. Ignore the smoke.' He ignores the signs, because he knows she's destroying herself, but he likes her that way. 'Such a lovely color for you.' She's degrading into a different person, but he's perhaps in love with the way she is, so he doesn't want it to change. That's how I see it because of personal experience.

He writes a lot about tornado relationships. I think this is just another one of those songs. But I also think he writes them so that they can be interpreted in different ways by different people. He wants people to connect with it personally. Can't do that when you say it blatantly. At least not with his subject matter. The songs about his mother however tend to be more straightforward. It's more personal. It's his own experiences. He wants it to be interpreted the way it is.

IE: Judith

But even that song he's commenting on blind following of religion when quite clearly, no one is up there watching out for you. You're on your own. But you follow blindly anway, because it gives you hope, as though there were a reason for what you were going through. Otherwise it's all for nothing.
