Brian Head Welch – Die Religion Die Lyrics 16 years ago
You see, God is like the moon, and religion is like a sign pointing to it, but the sign was built so big that it obstructs our view. We aren't supposed to look at the sign, but the moon, but so many of us are staring at the sign, the outside world thinks that the sign is our God, and not the moon it points to. Thus song is about tearing down the sign, and let the moon be the sign.

MaSu has once and for all proven their superiority to that of Brittney Spears. Tht isn't saying much these days, however.

Fightstar – Speak Up Lyrics 17 years ago
This is heavily influenced by Evangelion.

Fightstar – Paint Your Target Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is most certainly about Evangelion, as is the whole album. This song in particular describes several images from the series and/or film and there are several characters and events that this song could be about, but I think that it is about several. Most notably, "running around the table" could very well be a reference to an infamous breakdown scene from the film. In fact, this song may very well be about the entire sequence. "I'm just not sure it's gonna work" and "You stumble through questions/that you could never answer/That barrel is loaded/So go and paint your target" both describe Shinji's lack of confidence in himself and Nerv's use of him as a fighter.

Sorry, people, but you guys are all wrong. It's about the relationship between Shinji Ikari and his father.

Fightstar – Amaze us Lyrics 17 years ago
359847 is absolutely correct. About a third, maybe even half of Fightstar's songs seem to either be based on, inspired by, connected to or contain a reference to Evangelion. At least by my reconning.

Fightstar – Open Your Eyes Lyrics 17 years ago
For those who are familiar with the film, tis song seems to be inspired from a song from End of Evangelion. In particular, the scene early on in which a certain character is in a catatonic state and another is desperate for some kind of human contact and they just can't get them to respond.

Fightstar – Here Again (Last Conversation) Lyrics 17 years ago
It sounds almost like like it's about that answering machine message that Kaji left Misato. He left it with the knoledge that he would be dead when she got it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, this whole album is loosely based on an anime series calle Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm not making this up. Look it up yourself.

Fightstar – Hazy Eyes Lyrics 17 years ago
At the risk of sounding like a weaboo, this song reminds me of Gendo Ikari as viewed through his son's eyes.

Within Temptation – Hand Of Sorrow Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with Natas. From the first moment of hearing this song I was instantly reminded of Vader. A child grows up to become the hand and all that. The song talks about being torn in two inside, like the inner conflict that Vader carried with him.

Fightstar – Grand Unification, Pt. II Lyrics 17 years ago
Actually this song seems to be about the human instrumentality project. I mean, Fightstar did say that this whole album was inspired by it after all.
