this song to me is about the messed up world we live in, and when it comes to the part, "mabe you'll find life is unkind and over so soon, there is no gloden gate there is no heaven waiting for u" tat to me means some people have lost faith, (the corus) spinless dreamer hide in churhes, pieces of rush hour buses this part he go s into a political day dream,while he works as a sales rep workinging in an office so it continues, i dream in emails worn out praises, this can mean while he day dreams he sends emails with worm out praises, praises that he sends to sell the product ,its a worn out quote the company uses to sell the product, but after all the bad things in the world he thinks of someone close to him and imagines them wrapping around each other and all there fears fading away, cause the last part of the song is special, almost like a happy ending so it gos on, "as the needle slips into the run out groove, maybe you'll feel it too" (meaning love) needle slipping into the run out groove means the end and all them things u thought bad about the world and not making it to heaven go s away cause u felt love and tat is the key to heaven, to me this song starts out with doom and gloom but has a happy ending.............. to be honest keane make me think of many meanings to the songs, i love every album they ever made and cant wait to see them live again on jan 25th 2009, my explanations do not reflect wat i am trying to say but i hope u guys get it, thanks for reading, (Bren)

to me this song is about alchol getting in the way of an ambitious persons hopes and dreams, He is not fully an alcoholic but is afraid of it one day taking him over, but for now after all the mess ups he still trys again to be wat he can be, and even after the set backs, again he will always try again to achieve his dreams, he asks for god to sort him out at his moments of weekness and not give up on him, as he is not a stone he is just a man, humans make mistakes.............. im aware this song wont mean this to all but i just thought i would express myself a littleand share wat it means to me, thanks for reading.

what this song seems to mean is about someone who is trying to find themselves in a world they some wat fear, they see the world in a way like not many see. this makes him feel lonely but in the end everything he thought of the world was true and so many other began to see the light. The last part of the song is the best part, it lets him reliese frustration of the messed up world he sees, 1 of many amazing keane songs
