| Mumford & Sons – After the Storm Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this is one of the most lyrically and musically beautiful songs ive ever heard. most all of mumford and sons' are. I think this song could be interpreted in many ways. It could be spiritual, as in heaven. But to me it's more about letting go. "Get over your hill and see what you find there", to me this makes me think of an obstacle that's keeping you from happiness, once you get past that obstacle you see things differently, carefree, meaningful, and beautiful. "You must know life to see decay. But I won't rot, I won't rot. Not this mind and not this heart", this lyric speaks to me the most honestly. To me this means he won't let his obstacle overtake him, he will make something of himself, be remembered. I think to every person, whatever they are going through this song will mean different things. Death, self-loathing, disease, heartbreak; they can all be interpreted through this song. |

i think that this song is about a girl, who cant have a lover, for religion or just because no one fits into what she wants, Send them in, see them on She can’t find a lover, so she makes up a fantasy life with someone, she’ll fashion one Imaginary men, and gets lost in this world She opened up until she disappeared Vanished, hand in hand, With all the long-lost children locked in Neverland She asked, exactly tell me "what is love but grieving life alone?" Just the words from prophets and religious shows Maybe its saying that everyone is saying love is so amazing, but yet she has to live in a fantasy world just to exprience it, and since she wants love, yet to her its just being alone. ahh i love chris cornor, all of his songs are so cryptic and amazing, i could set around all day thinking of all the things the lyrics could mean |
