This song is self explanatory.. It screams PAIN, ANGER, PAIN, ANGER, PAIN, ANGER!!!! The source? I dont know, but the ending lyrics say a lot: And when you've taken down your guard If I could change your mind I'd really love to break your heart I'd really love to break your heart |

| Sting – King Of Pain Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To those born with their heads laid low. To those whose vision cuts through the beautiful facade of life to its underlying pain. For every person that feels the pain of the butterfly in the spider's web or the blue whale beached by the springtide's ebb. This song is for you. This song is for the extreme altruist that feels for all living things....and how futile life is when understanding that this pain is part of the grand scheme of things. How can you not see the black spot on the sun when it is very soul? |

| Tears for Fears – The Working Hour Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This is a beautiful piece of music. Considering the psycho-analytic theme of "Songs From the Big Chair" the song has a personal meaning to me. Anyone that has participated in any form of psychological therapy knows well that the session lasts an hour. Depending on the doctor and patient and the nature of the issues being discussed, it can be the most excruciating hour of your life. Facing long repressed issues, experiences, pain. Acknowledging your flawed thought process and the self doubt that follows when your perceptions of reality are shaken. The conclusions you come to and accepting a new "reality" that you were completely unaware of. I recall the beads of sweat forming on my forehead during these sessions, and it was indeed a "working hour." These things That I've Been told Can rearrange My world My doubt In time But inside out All along the psychoanalyst is learning from you and more so from your mistakes. Your recompense for his/her "learning?" Your healing. You are paind by those that learn from your mistakes. ...and the fear, the fear of facing the truth, of facing the reality outside your own awareness...it feels like being bound in chains. Find out what this fear is about...find out!!! Like I said, this song is very personal to me and I remember it when I see others going through the working hour of psycho-therapy. |
