Well, i think the most important line is "you're never just a hat". i think it's the old Gestalt theory that the whole is more than a sum of its parts. you are not a collection of functions or activities, you are a complete person and taking one or more things away from you does not make you less of yourself. when all the things you thought you knew are gone, you will just be left with yourself. if you turn out to be wrong, just take it in your stride, it's not the end of you. |
