Apparently this song not far off from being about a guy in 9th grade, who stole his mom’s car and was getting a BJ from a girl from his high school, only he told her that she was almost as good at it as her brother. Then she got mad and bit his d*ck. He was screaming, she was crying. Then they laughed and high fived.

there is a new book out about the whole album on amazon from 33 1/3 - great book about the history of the band and the songs on the album, most is about greg's relationship with his girlfriend before this album, he was cheating on her, then found out she was doing the same while he was gone. |

This may sound dorky but this song really fit a situation in my life about an older woman who was like a grandmother to me. She took care of me and my sister since we were babies and we remained good friends with her until she died in when we were in our 20's. She helped us so much growing up and always encouraging us because she had no kids of her own ("what would you think of me now" part). And when she died about 10 years ago I realized we never really had the chance to thank her. The part about singing one more time reminds me of how she always loved to listen to us sing as children but then as we got older, of course we were embarassed to do so, but wish you would have a chance to do something nice for her one more time. She was the nicest most religious person I ever met and if there is heaven, she is there, so this song just seemed to be exactly what I would think if I could write a song to her, though I think the song was about someone closer in age. |
