CocoRosie – Promise Lyrics 15 years ago
This seems to definitely be about homosexuality. But it seems to be primely of how the "relationship" has been only of lust, perhaps for the reason of he/she (the character referenced in the song) being uncomfortable with a homosexual relationship beyond lust. There seem to be a lot of bisexual folks that will have meaningful relationships with the opposite gender, however "booty call" the same gender. The character could be afraid and/or not desiring a real relationship. The first person voice in the song is obviously comfortable, and cares enough about this person to "know" the potential for a beautiful relationship, and is wishful of some sort of change with this person.

of Montreal – Enemy Gene Lyrics 15 years ago
Actually folks, this song is actually about this mind blowing aspect:

Humans are creations that can achieve (and actually make up the thought of) having complete peace and love amongst one another. Yet, because of the very way we are created, we naturally DON'T achieve the thing that only humans can be capable of as a special existence.

I thought this was a cool song for the reason of interpreting this song in this way.

This song sounds almost exactly like a Rush song. People compare eppard to sanchez... but i compare eppard to lee from Rush.

Three – Broadway Alien Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm almost positive this song is actually about an alien who is discovered by the government or some sort of authority in which hundreds of experiments are performed on this alien to where it's almost like he's on "broadway". However, back where he actually lives everyone cares about him and is remaining positive about his unlikely return.

Three – Blood on the Blankets Lyrics 17 years ago
c'mon! nothing?

Okay, i'll help you guys out. I know people are gonna attack me about bringing religion into the mix again, but just listen.

This song is quite obviously about how luring and idealistic religion seems, until realized that "nobody's there, I sit and I stare
At shadows on the wall." It's plainly obvious that eppard compares the thought of god as an "illusion", but feels that " I've got nowhere else that I can go". But maybe he's referring to basic human thought about religion and how they feel that there's nothing else to do or to even think.

Oh, there's blood on the blankets and I'm scared
Someone's beside me
But nobody's there, I sit and I stare
At shadows on the wall
I said nobody's there, I sit and I stare
That's right, nobody's there, I sit and I stare
Said nobody's there, I sit and I stare
At shadows on the wall

for those of you not convinced yet, the blood on the blankets could refer to the way eppard felt about discovering his atheism and how it would be percieved by others. For example, blood on the blankets could be another way of saying all of the shit out on the table. Basically something negative and dark being exposed. "Someone's beside me" aftering blood on the blankets could be his last grip of maybe even trying to believe in God as he doesn't want to yet admitt to himself that he's an atheist, cause at the time, it could have been an embarrassment.
very long, but necessary for the "no, it's never about religion" kind of people.

Three – Amaze Disgrace Lyrics 17 years ago
Considering the name "Amazing Disgrace" i'd have to assume that this song is opposite Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace is based on someone's fears or being "lost" and just slowly letting those feelings go.
I think that Amazing Disgrace would probably be about the opposite. Judging also by the lyrics, the song seems to be about sugar-coated ideas and feelings that are suddenly realized to be not so, or maybe nothing at all.

this song obviously compares eppard's own personal conflict with greater conflicts of the world.

Three – All That Remains Lyrics 17 years ago
have to quote this guy: " "The same old story/But the names have all been changed", and this latest victim was strong enough to rise above and try to defend their self against the evildoer, "The fatal mistake you made/Was of all the hearts you'd slain/How you kept alive my bloody valentine ". Or all the above said but the singer is talking to themselves, "Aiming at the enemy
I only smash the mirror". "

Okay, first of all, "the same old story, but the names have all been changed" could also refer to religion. Let's not forget about how similar most religions are.

and however tempting it might be to label this song to be about personal struggle, who says that maybe eppard at one point had a religion? In which case "aiming at the enemy I only smash the mirror" could mean that he's to some extent a hypocrite and probably hates himself for it. I know i would. Personally, being wary of the ways of 3, i find it too simplistic to label this song as ONLY a personal struggle. This song is about a personal and worldwide struggle with religion.

Three – Queen Lyrics 17 years ago
Like i have analyzed in a blog on myspace, this song is similar to All that Remains in the aspect that it refers to religion. Specifically, this song talks about how religion wears this sugar-coated mask to draw people in, but there is so much beneath the surface that people don't realize.

I did, however, receive a counterarguement against my analysis. Apparently, this song could also be about conspiracy.

Three – Serpents in Disguise Lyrics 17 years ago
Reading and analyzing the lyrics to this song, i am thinking this song is about the struggle, either personally or generally, between the "dark" and "light" side. It could be maybe about our own good and bad sides, or it could be general.

OH! hello vito!
