This song describes me perfectly.I believe the line "I got on with making myself" means that he was starting a new chapter in his life. The first half of the song from the "Shut out, pimpled and angry", to the line "the songs that I heard, the occasional book were the only fun I ever took" was about his life as a teenager in highschool. Now life will be full of responsibilities and he is not sure what to do in life. So, that fits in with "The trick is just making yourself" "But, when they're parking their cars on your chest"- he has all kinds of decisions to make on what to do with his life now, and everyone is pressuring him on what to do. "You've still got a view of the summer sky"- He is not ready to grow up. He wants to still live care free. Summer vacation was almost up, and he would go off to college, work, etc. "To make it hurt twice when your restless body caves to its whims"- Kinda ties in with the last line. The thought of him being able to do what he wants when he wants one day to having responsibilities the next keeps him up at night tossing and turning in bed. "Then suddenly struggles to take flight"- this could be two things. He wants to get away from everything, or it has hit him what he wants to do. I haven't decided which one it is, but they both fit in well with the next stanza. He is going 3,000 miles northeast to look for love. So, maybe he is just going to get away from everything, or there is a girl 3,000 miles northeast that he let go at one point in time and is going back to win over. That's my interprentation. It could be wrong, but maybe it will make since to somebody! |

| This album is great. It is better with time. The first time I heard it , I didn't like it at all. But since I just paid 17 dollars for it, I just let it play in my car. It seemed better everytime I heard it. Now it is one of my favorite albums I own. | |

| I am almost positive that the part "In the galaxy stars, with nothing in the middle" is wrong. I hear "In the galaxy stars, where nothing ever matters."(he pronounces it in a funny way,like a little kid would. I noticed a few songs on this album had the same little kid style slang.) It makes more since, because nothing really matters outside of what is happining with his love life. | |

| First of all. The capo is on the 3rd fret.Same chord progression though C-Am-F-G. Can you guys not tell your playing it wrong? Anyways, I don't see why you all don't think it fits in Twilight. Maybe the meaning of the song isn't along the same line of what is going on in the movie, but it's a beautiful song. The melody is perfect for that scene. | |
