no it is definatly about one girl through the whole song from her childhood where her parents got divorced because the father was abusive thats obvious from the lyrics and its like blaming all the other problems she encounters in her life on the childhood abuse and divorce for example the young pregnancy (two line blue line. and also "hand of curiosity" could be about sex or the father of her baby hit her im not sure.) where the father is not supportive its essentially about the trauma and its consequences in a persons life and then finally realizing that the traumatic moment does not define you and you become "unbroken" missy higgins is amazing. |

this definatley about God having an unconditional love for us. and how he doesnt understand why he could still love us with all of the horrible things in the world. also i interpret the chorus as the purity of life and existence was corrupted with sin (white to grey) and that we are "swaying" on the line of life and death (or salvation and damnnation) and God is holding us up and he wont let go. and i also think he feels bad for God because he has to hold all of us and most will not even recognize him in there lives. |
