when i first heard it, much of it makes me think of elizabeth smart - a girl kidnapped, assuming the name of 'augustine', and the idea of the police coming and 'banging on the door' makes it seem as though it's a sort of chilling bit of romantic thinking from the captor. probably completely wrong, but it makes the song feel quite twisted and haunting with that in mind. |

probably just a coincidence but this makes me think of 'the heart is deceitful above all things' - it has a sarah, the actress playing her has an angel tattoo on her belly, she dyes her hair from blonde to black and takes off her clothes and goes running around a road at some point. a large chunk of the novel/film is the way in which her young son (who was -adopted- by another couple but is taken back by her) looks up to sarah - even pretending to be her at some points. |
