Actually, it's evident that he's saying he loves New York BECAUSE of whatever you've mentioned and more. Including the poverty and what not; "and since I made it here, I can make it anywhere". Quit being sore, just because someone writes a song about the city they love. Why don't YOU write a song about your favorite state and sing it just as well, instead of whining about what's not good about New York. |

I don't know about weed, but it's definitely about drugs. "Coming no not today"- I'm high and I'm not coming down today "Pick it up its not to strong for you,Take a piece and pass it on" go on, take it, it's not too strong just take one and pass it on (groupie??) "Fly away on my zephyr"- Lets fly high together on this gentle soothing breeze I think he had been taking so much drugs that he only feels the effects of a zephyr when he's high. All the talk about flying...well duh. His drug gives him such a liberated feeling. I think it's rather obvious, don't you think? |

no actually, this song is about green flying cows that have decided to take over the world. -__- that's how ridiculous it sounds to link this song with actual drug addiction. But I wont deny that it's pretty creative of those who thought of it :) But sorry to burst your drug-infested bubbles...I think this is a song about love. it is "grave", not "grey"...hence, it means that he feels dead inside, and a kiss from this person (i'd like to think it's a girl he's referring to) makes him feel alive...it is indeed, painful, because he is comparing her to a rose; beautiful, but painful to the touch. And "To me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny" being that he knows it's painful to love this girl, yet he is addicted to it, hence "Won't you tell me is that healthy, baby." "Ooh, the more I get of you, Stranger it feels, yeah"- He's not used to such feelings and he feels strange, getting so much of her. :) But whatever it is, this song is awesome. |
