Alright so... all you tards who post stuff like "weee i love this song!" ...re read the url of the website... *cough* SONG MEANINGS...yea...
Anyways, I watched their video that goes with this song... It really illustrates the meaning. Its set in the Forbidden City in China... and the story plays out about a young emperor who wishes for 30stm to play in his city or something... kinda ridiculous... but yea, the emperor is a stranger to SOME...which means few people dont know him... but hes a vision to none, which could mean hes not bringing his empire any dreams or hope, nobody gives a crap about him...hes just the emperor. He can never get enough of SIN... sin is "the one" in my opinion. The chorus brings me an idea of the emperor seeing how corrupt his empire is becoming... hes scared but he ignores it...he doesnt want to face the facts...or "the message"
The fortune line kinda blows my whole interpretation up... but theres a map of the world as his empire knows it... he rules a lot of land....
next stanza...he rules an empire thats so corrupt, its seen as "shit" ...and he sends many men to battle and to death...many of them dont deserve it, they're innocent.

I very often look at the world and get such a deep, painful realization that this really could "come down" at any time...such a fragile existence... Also I can't help but notice the tone of this song...sounds like despair to me... |
