She likes him and waits but eventually the distance and lack of being there physically makes her decide to end it and says to him they can still just be friends..... which as many of us know is something we all hate to hear.... at the end after he goes touring and they have what they wanted and he can go home, she already ended its actually an insult to the girl |

I'm thinking this song is about his close friends and family when he started up this band, originally in ocala, no one really cared for this band and didn't think it was going anywhere. When your raised by a working class father, your taught principles and learn that you have to work for what you want. So when he was down and things weren't looking up for his band he never gave up. Look at them now being headliners and selling out tickets to venues etc.... what i think he's getting is at is that he's pissed off at everyone who said they were there for him but didn't think this was a dream worth pursuing and when they told him to give it up he never did. Through that he persevered but can't ever forgive those who weren't there to be there when everything was at its worst |
