| Green Day – Favorite Son Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I think that this song is about Pee-wee Herman and his rise and downfall. "He hit the ground running, At the speed of light. The star was brightly shining, Like a neon light." (PWH's career taking off.) "A fixture on the talk shows" (started on Letterman) to the silver screen (which is how he got his movie, Big Adventure). he's a sex machine" (indecent exposure arrest). "It's your favorite son (he ruled the 80's) But isn't it a drag" (Paul Reubens as Pee-wee lived in that persona, and many people thought it was a drag for him to be hidden behind the facade.) "A clean-cut all American (PWH was noted for his clean cut looks, hosting a children's TV show) really ain't so clean" (self explanatory) "Well no one says it's fair, turn a teenage lush to a millionaire." (Went from nobody to millionare overnight.) "Now where's your fuckin' champion? On a bed you laid. He's not the All-American, That you thought you paid." (Referring to the downfall, how the he was sent to prison, on a bed "you" laid, "you" meaning America. Not the All-American, lovable talk show host paid to entertain children. ) Read more at http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858511698/#zEOklzyiUlOOdkZy.99 |

Definitely not about this, but the song makes me think of the Pee-wee Herman case in 1991. Could be though, because PW had a huge influence on people around the age of FOB's band members. "I'm guessing he read the morning paper The headline reads 'The Man Hangs'" (Possibly in reference to a very famous article regarding the case, stating Reubens' alter-ego Pee-wee Herman is dead.) "The verdict falls like bachelors for bad luck girls" (He got caught for indecent exposure in a adult theater.) Case open, and case shut "But you could pay to close it like a casket" (He pleaded no contest, $75 dollar fine to "close it like a casket" though he maintained his innocence, no longer wanted to go through the trial.) "Baby boy can't lift his headache head" (Pee-wee Herman, perceived as innocent and childlike... which is why people had such a hard time accepting this case.) Isn't it tragic? "Boys in three pieces dream of grandstanding and bravado" (Could refer to those who caught him, witnesses, or comedic imitators of PW.) "Fresh pressed suit and tie" (Though it's what all men wear in court, it's what Pee-wee wore all the time.) "Unimpressed birds sing and die" (Juxtaposition to Pee-wee's innocent world, birds singing, etc.) "The cause, the kid, the cuff, the charm, and the curse." (Having fame and then losing it, speaks for itself.) |

| I think it's about liking someone older than you who is clearly out of your reach. | |
| The Starting Line – Pictures Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think it's about Christ and someone's battle with religion. "Once I read your name And I heard your stories Then I just couldn't get enough Now where'd you go Cause i've been waiting To see you right before my eyes." "Yeah but they look so good in your pictures How come they're not around? They still live They're way up high Where they've been dying out to the world." |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I agree that it's about a guy who watches another guy, but could it be about a guy who likes a girl? I know a very athletic girl named Andy, maybe that's why they emphasize "on the mats with the boys". But I could be wrong. |
