how can you call getting head while driving unadulterated... obviously this is a lot about sex but come on, wheres your sense of adventure, delve deep into the lyrics, go beyond the obvious! heroin i tell you! they even wrote it while they were on the stuff. i think its clearly about being on, and coming off it. also consider the video, there's no sex shown, and definately no exciting firey adrenalin fuelled sex. what there is is fucked up people and exorcisms and shit. the kind of stuff coming off heroin might make you think about/feel like/look like. |

the lyrics for the first verse and chorus (going by the cd booklet) are "Oh she’s only seventeen Wine and whine and wound up over everything Bloody Mary breakfast busting up the scene Brothers frightened, when’s a baby gonna sleep? Hidden ship two sails away" and theres no "said" before "it's a culmination" the rest is right. |

"i know theyre watching" is a pretty typical drug induced paranioa thing to say. and the exorcism? hell maybe its all in his mind. he is on drugs. also the video is definitely very similar to a few scenes in trainspotting - a movie totally about heroin addicts. |

afterthought - maybe to him, heroin or whatever drug feels like 'sex on fire' and yeah, what glen says about the anticipation and desperation and the junkies desperate for some kind of sexual release from their anguish sounds pretty accurate. maybe its about two junkies who think its possible that their next hit might kill them and are desperate to express as much sexual desire for each other before they risk death to feel the surge. but thats getting pretty out there haha. |

ok so yeah, i think we have established that a lot of it is about sex. but i was talking with a friend and he's convinced that the song is also about being on heroin. it kinda does make a lot of sense. And like someone mentioned earlier the video does resemble the heroin scene in trainspotting. examples of how it relates to being on heroin are: "Lay where you're laying Don't make a sound I know they're watching They're watching" and "Soft lips are open Knuckles are pale Feels like you're dying You're dying" and "Hot as a fever Rattling bones I can just taste it Taste it" having never taken the stuff myself i wouldn't know, but the lyrics really do seem quite drug-ish if you read between the lines. |
