anju you are exactly right.. "spanish eyes" is most definately a reference to his wife ali, whom he met in highschool in Ireland. it says in the U2 book he was first attracted to her because she looked like a young beautiful spanish girl. this is evident and referenced in many of his songs. to those who actually believe it is about having sex with an underage girl you're all idiots! hes one of the most decent men who loves his wife and children... and his booze apparently!!!! |
