Hurt – Flowers Lyrics 16 years ago
Lol I love this song, especially this:

And the morons at labels who
think they know tunes
The army of lawyers that threaten to sue
The hookers that blow them
when I just want food
And the asshats that download
and never buy tunes
You should die

Tool – Pushit (Live) Lyrics 17 years ago
"Why is it everyone automatically assumes songs are about relationships with a girlfriend? Just because he uses the words "love" doesn't mean he's referring to a 'lover'. Some of you need to stop being so emo. Not everyone cuts themselves after a break-up."

You got a point, the song could be about 2 parts of himself. I think this song has to be deeper than about a love-hate relationship, why would they write a 13 minute song, and asking us to shut our eyes and go to 'another side'. If the story behind it is so .. simple.

Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics 17 years ago
I like how the album has 11 songs, this song is 11:11 in its length, other songs are, 6:11, 1:11 and 11:13. the bitrate of the original CD is 1411. I don't know if theyre fucking with us or it actually means something. "Viginti Tres" is eleven letters (yeah just coinincidence)

@ Mitol, It's not 666 seconds, the song is 11 minutes, and 11 seconds, 11 x 60 = 660 seconds, 660 + 11 is 671 seconds.

@ spartian chief,
thats cool if its all true, i dont know. the radio broadcast, isn't that the one in Faap de oaid? I wonder what the code means.

@ people that complain about over-analyzing songs,
shut up, who cares, this is a public forum and we can think what we want. Most of the theories are our imagination, but who cares? also, not everthing is over-analyzed, I'm sure this song is deeper then an LSD trip.

also Fun with dick & jane -> Fun with maynards dick and jane..
But this whole jim carrey thing is just a fun coincidence i think, too far fetched to be true.
SHIT I JUST DIScovered another reference: Jim plays the Grinch, The Grinch, was written by Dr Seuss. which reminds me of this comment:
"Fun Fact: The Rosetta Stone is a granite stone found in Egypt; the stone was the key to deciphering the hieroglyphs; it was also used as a pseudonym for children's author Dr. Seuss"

Continuing on the Jim Carrey idea.. I know it seems stupid but it is quite ?accidentaly? (includes things already said by other people:)

This track begins with "Alrighty then", which was a repeated line in the Ace Ventura movies. This makes me believe this song might be a comment on Jim Carrey as an actor, or on his career in general. Jim is a noted fan of heavy/death metal.

Just like the protagonist in this song, Carrey never finished high school. The song alludes to the possible existence of aliens, and mr. Carrey played an alien in Earth Girls Are Easy. "You believe me don't you?/Please believe what I just said" is probably a reference to Liar Liar. Many Tool songs are thought to carry comments on religion, and Jim played the main character in Bruce Almighty. Last year Jim portrayed a character called Dick, and Tool have a song called Maynard's Dick.

As a way of thanking Tool for writing a song about him, Jim Carrey have now signed up for a film called The Number 23,

In "Rosetta Stoned" when the third verse starts i.e; "After calming me down with some etc.etc" there are 23 guitar notes before E.T reveals the 'Singular Purpose' i.e; "You are the Chosen One. You are to yadaydayada." This ties into the '23 Enigma' of "Viginti Tres" Am I right or am I tripping?

The deleted scenes from Bruce Almighty include a scene where Jim does a parody of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a movie about aliens/Area 51.
