wanted to get right, pretty self explanitory but damn do i love how the bass and guitar almost switch jobs on this song, the guitar holds down the tone while the bass carries the melody.........beautiful |

| I believe this song is def. about a lot of different things. Most of Ed's lyrics are meant to be ambiguous, as is all great art. But in my opinion its trying to go home(metaphorically, phsyically, whatever)......Thumbing my way, as in hitchhiking using ur thumb, "counting my steps walking backwards on the road", the overpass stuff, almost like hes walking on a road, however i believe it is much deeper than this. Take it how you want, but damn do I love Pearl Jam, cant even try to explain the love.... | |
