Sounds to me like he was in relationship with a very good person and was abusive to them but because of how nice they were he never noticed he was hurting them.
The chorus however makes it seem like it's about drugs. |

Yeah this song is clearly about being bullied to the point where you realize that theres nothing to lose so you kill yourself(as everyone has said).
One line in particular I feel nobody has mentioned is the line about all the angels he knew put concrete in his veins. I believe thats a reference to how some people are bullied and will eat to feel better which gets them fat and clogs their veins, aka put concrete in my veins. |

It's pretty much saying that we can go through lifes seeing the brightsides and being happy with what you have.
Basically it's like the title says just "swing life away" and enjoy it.
Not to sound off-topic but I always get this nostalgic feeling when I hear this song and think of a lower-middle class suburban family going through a average life. Normally you think thats boring but this song just makes it sound so beautiful. |

And these people will act perfectly normal when dealing with the person but will talk about them behind their back. I think the song is about our superior's basically ignoring those below them. And eventually because of that their power goes from them to someone else that was originally below them.
Though the bridge of the song confuses me though that could be a reference to possibly a civilization cut-off from the rest of the world like North Korea because their higher-ups view it as keeping them safe from the world.
The last part of the song makes me think that it also has to do with revenge towards the former higher-ups. |
