| Taking Back Sunday – Capital M-E Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
in TBS's defense, i will say that they did NOT talk trash about Fred when he left. infact, the very first comment about it on MySpace, they encouraged everyone to go out and buy his solo record. then suddenly, Fred is talking trash about them. im not counting the song 'Complaintor' but im talking about the press, calling them whiners, and more intrested in cooking than making music, etc. i love Fred and his new project, and i know what Adam is capable of, but lets face it, Fred was using that to gain publicity. the lyrics "was it everything you hoped for? was it all of that and more? too much too soon? or too good to be true? was it everything you hoped for? was it all of that and more?" is kind of telling Fred "see, you wanted your voice heard in the band, no you are out, whose stopping you? wheres all your ideas now?" |

this song sounds ELO influenced to me. its the band's first big departure from the thier standard rock formula and leads up to where they are today. its funny how all these 14-17 year olds are hearing this for the first time because of Twilight, and i can remember being 16 hearing for the first time in 99....man i feel old lol |

| Puff Daddy – Come With Me (feat. Jimmy Page) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
to all those wondering, Jimmy Page DOES infact play the guitars in this song, its NOT a sample! but he wasnt in the studio with Puff Daddy. he was in his own studio in england being broadcasted to LA in Puff's studio. he did it only 2 takes if i remember correctly. also for another bit of Trivia, Tom Morrello from Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave plays the bass guitar on this track. he came in during the mixing process and layed down the bass in one take 1 week before the song was released to radio. oh and the drums are not samples either, they are an actuall kit |

| Ministry – What About Us? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| also some trivia, while filming A.I. Steven Spielberg personally asked Al to write a song for the movie (it may have been the entire soundtrack) because he is sucha big fan of Ministry. you would have never thought in a million years that Steven is a fan of Ministry haha | |
| Superdrag – Bankrupt Vibration Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is about the pop music scene, and how it pretty much sucks but we keep buying into it and gobbling up the albums of manufactured musical wallpaper. the demo version is alot more angrier and even kinda sorta calls out Alanis haha | |
| Superdrag – The Staggering Genius Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| there was a tiny rumor around the time 'Last Call' was released, that this song was an angry letter to Tom Pappas, the former bassist. John Davis came to the message board and set the record straight: its about himself and his inner demons and NOT about Tom! he goes on to say that Tom even played at his wedding lol (oh and the original line up is working on a NEW freeekin CD for 09' release!) | |
| Superdrag – Baby Goes To Eleven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Awesome song! Guided By Voice's Bob Pollard sings back ups on the chorus. pretty simple song to get... its about John's awesome wife lol | |
| The Allman Brothers Band – I'm No Angel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| not too hard to read into. About a guy who has a questionable past trying to put the moves on a 'higher class' woman. good song! pretty funny video too lol | |
| Train – Ordinary Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| didnt Ed Roland of Collective Soul have something to do with this song? co-writing or producing or something? i could have sworn i read that somewhere. either way good song for the movie, and alot heavier than thier usuall IMHO | |
| The Color Fred – I Didn't See Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
okay i think this song is about Fred leaving TBS.....haha just kidding! i think everyone will be saying that about every song Fred ever writes now lol.. this isnt too cryptic. we all have a friend or lover or whatever we always take for granted without realizing it until its too late. this is kind of an emo song all grown up ha! oh and yeah i agree, the solo is very VanHalen-esque! i think Fred gets overlooked as a prog.rock guitarist! |

| The Color Fred – Complaintor Lyrics | 17 years ago |

just because you leave a band doesnt mean you hate the guys in it. Ive been in a band for just about 10 years, and this year while recording our 5th album, i got so fed up i pretty much quit. NOT because of the band members, but i just didnt like the direction and by agruing about it it made me feel vein so i just opted out instead of causing a scene... this is a very touching song if youve been in that situation. Fred hit the nail on the head. and another thing, its easy to blame Adam for Fred leaving but sometimes its not the singer/leader's fault. the Louder Now TBS is alot more profitable than the WYWTB TBS so naturaly they are gonna lean on the profitable side of the table, and maybe Fred just couldnt put his heart into something that had no heart so he left. i dont blame him. thats why i left my band. its hard to emotionaly 'sell' a song/story if YOU yourself dont believe it! |
