Because she said, "Chemical reaction" in the second verse she is indeed alluding back to calling him and herself a(the) catalyst. From my perspective... Love in the movies. I think its about two married people with families GETTIN' IT ON... or might GET IT ON! I think the man propositions the female. She struggles with it but its just so damn tempting. I think they're both have families at home from the "Shepherd to Shepherd" line. I also think the melody of the song denotes evil. When the violins string high... and lets be honest... it's kinda sexy, no? I also think the soft piano at the beginning is heart trembling... like the way a married woman would feel when being propositioned by another man. |

"You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take." Is my favorite and most poetic line. I feel that line is the most important line of the song. You've been with this person and you've formatted your world and plans based on the relationship you've made with them and the choices you've made together. That line is saying that he's not over because they are over... but everything hes considered up to this point is over and he is at a standstill as reality sets in. As for some of the song the lines that speak of them as still being together and strong... I honestly think its him begging for another chance. It's pretty straight forward. James' new cd drops soon. I hope he has more ballads like this. |

I think most of you need to know... This song is sung by Meatloaf... but it was indeed written by Jim Steinmen.. a wonderful talent that has done so much for opera rock. Amazing talent. The songs isn't a metaphoric song. It's pretty much honest and open and to the point. It's such a calming and relaxing song to have playing. I think it's helped me as a woman learn to tell some guys that well... I love you... but I'm not in love with you. I appreciate you.. but I don't breath for you. |

OK. I feel like most of you have an idea of what the song is about. I think it's about a man who fell for a socialite. I don't think it was his best friends girl. hollow feelin' = That's the feeling of being empty.. not guilty. dealin' friends = He's using his friends as a connection to get to her. I think the whole point of the song is that he wants a strong something and she wants to be free. He can't find the words to talk to her because his fear of rejection comes from his true belief that she isn't ready for something serious and enjoys the single life. |
