someone on this site said something about how isaac writes all his song with no intention in mind. I think he doesnt think there is a right or wrong answer when you listen to music or read poetry but to say your words have no point or meaning is like saying you havent lived. Writing is a form of expression. Even writing nonsense has a purpose, some people just know how to string words together better than others. |

I went through a place in life where i felt exactly like this.
I wanted to be completely isolated from everything and i was depressed and though that being alone was a solution and at that point being part of the world made no sense. I wasnt a normal functioning person. I would go out into the world and think the smartest people were the silent ones and kind of went through life with my mind and eyes working in opposition of each other. I dunno this song makes sense to me but i cant explain it. |

i think its total tongue in check sarcasm about someone who thinks that they are just the best person ever and issac can't stand the person. So hes sarcasically say oh yeah...youre the good things....its like saying youre pretty...pretty ugly. thats kinda what hes doing.
but i think in the last part of the song the person is doing something that forces them off their high horse and now they are digging their own grave and now that the person is on his "level" hes more than happy to help the person dig their grave deeper |

I think this song is about a to people who fall in love. Both are very depressed and don't know anything about themselves but they find each other and even through the most unhealthy problems in their relationship, they cling to each other. Even when the ship(their relationship is sinking).
I think finally though they do break up and thats why he doesnt want to see and has to paint everything black. Even though it was a terrible relationship hes still very sad about it and cant understand how she can do anything simple or remotely hopeful such as look out her window. |
