Gavin DeGraw – Young Love Lyrics 17 years ago
hmm...I thought it was..."still want her even though I get less than she takes"...?

Anyway...for me this song is about taking chances and risks in love and relationships, "woman I'm taking risk here that no one dared and you're scared, scared of the bottom, afraid of the stairs"...and about being afraid to fall in love as you can get hurt. How you feel like you're giving your all to that person...doing everything you can for them...yet they aren't doing the same for you, "still want her in the know I get less than she takes". It's about the journey of a relationship, how one person is giving more than the other and how tough and hard love can be...but on the other hand...how beautiful and innocent it can be. I also think that one of them was hurt through the relationship..."what did I get into, now everything is untrue, your eyes tell the lies of the lines that you said" and how they were hurt so much that they wished they'd never met them so it would erase the pain. Basically...the song is about young love...the hardships...the innocence...the beauty...the pain...everything. Falling in love...is like taking a giant leap into the unknown...and that to me...is what this song is about =]

Creed – Higher Lyrics 17 years ago
To me...and i repeat: to me lol...this song is about a recurring dream as he says "time and time again"...of his perfect place that he can escape to and he hate waking up from this dream..."At sunrise I fight to stay asleep". He wants to keep dreaming because it allows him to escape the world and all the bad things in his life...whatever that may be...and just enjoy the imaginary place that his subconscious has created. When he says "Can you take me higher?"...it think it means that his dreams take him to a place of happiness and by 'higher' he means an elevation of his mood. Also when he says "To the place where blind men see"...i think this is a metaphor, saying that anything can happen in this place...even blind men being able to see...as he creates it, he can allow anything to happen there. Even though he wishes that the world was a better place, it 'helps him to appreciate' his dreams as they allow him to escape. However, he would give up his dreams if the world became the same, which he believes can only happen if we rid the world of hate. Also at the end of the songs, he says:
Up high I feel like I'm alive for the very first time
Up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams
And make them mine
...I think this means that he feels more alive in his dreams than what he does in reality...kind of ironic actually and that when he dreams he feels as if he can make anything happens and achieve the impossible..."take these dreams and make them mine"...he can manipulate his dreams so whatever he wants to happen...happens. Basically I think it's about how our dreams allow us to escape reality to a place that's safe...and where anything can happen.

Chris Isaak – Wicked Game Lyrics 17 years ago
To me this song is about wanting someone physically and how the desire for someone can bring about strange and unfamiliar emotions. It's about being afraid to let yourself fall in love with that person because you don't want to get you're heart broken..."No, I don't wanna fall in love, this world is always gonna brake your heart..with you"...he says that he doesn't wanna fall in love then later says with you, showing the underlying message that he is scared to fall in love for fear of being hurt. This person also frustrates you because you find the way they act confusing and unfair..."What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way, what a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you, what a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way"...it's "wicked" for them to play mind games with you, making you think that they have feelings for you when perhaps they don't, saying things they don't really mean and giving you false hope about being together. They make you dream of them [as they say that dreams show you're repressed desires] and it's unfair for them to make you dream of being with them when it may never happen. He says "I'll never dream that I lose somebody like you, no"...that now he has fallen for the person, he never wants to imagine what it would be like losing them. However, instead of falling in love with them, he wants to 'fall in lust' thus coming back to when he previously says "It's strange what desire will make foolish people do"...that perhaps he doesn't feel or want love...but he instead feels lust or desire for this person. He ends the song with, "nobody loves no one", showing that perhaps noone ever really loves anyone...our bodies just feel a desire or a lust for that person. Just a theory...=]

Lifehouse – If This Is Goodbye Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about a person reminiscing about a past relationship..."I am wishing you well and wondering how you are". Perhaps there was some unresolved bitterness in the relationship..."And time heals but these scars keep on tearing us apart"...even though time has passed, the bad memories or "scars" that were left behind are there to remind them of it and they find it harder to forget about the pain. Even though they were hurt..."Maybe we can both recover and find forgiveness for each other"...maybe they can put it aside, forgive each other and finally move on. My favourite line is "sometimes ending is the only place to start"...in order for them to move on with their life...they have to resolve what they once had and say goodbye. Lastly, it's about finally realising that their relationship is over so they find forgiveness and release each other from their life..."even if this is goodbye"...
