@[unlikelyadict:30204] the thing is my friend, that lyrics, poetry, literature etc can often be interpreted in more than one way. In fact, that is generally considered to be one of the characteristics of great songwriting. |

| The Beatles – Savoy Truffle Lyrics

It's about hubris, vanity, over-indulgence, going too far.
'Savoy Truffle' is the ultimate high: so sweet, you'll lose all your teeth.
But you just can't help yourself. |

A brilliant song about 'just do it', which is way ahead of its time in terms of both sentiment and production. |

I remember reading the review in the NME at the time this song came out.
As I recall, they reckoned that 'Buck-toothed girl' == 'a dispenser of oral sex' and 'the bomb' == 'an orgasm'.
To me, its a song about having inihibitions.

Holy cow I love this song. I saw them on TV performing this when it came out, and I knew right then and there that they were really going somewhere. Before this they were also-ran hangers on to the 'baggy' scene'. After this, they were songwriters in their own right. |

What I love about this song is that the lyrics are about America but the production is so British, so...Beatle-y! The bass playing and the guitar are straight out of Abbey Road. Brilliant tune, brilliant arrangement, brilliant lyrics, love it!!! |

"blue, blue, electric blue.."
This song is about a lonely guy, staying in his room, watching TV. Pale blinds, drawn all day. Nothing to do, nothing to say. The album is called "Low".
There he sits, wondering about what he sees and hears. Drifting into his solitude, it is beamed in to his room from overhead, turning the room "electric blue"... |

| Blur – To the End Lyrics

This song, along with most of the 'Parklife' album, just sums up life in the '90s in the UK.
Its an accurate and rather bleak desciption of the state of 'dating' in the UK during that period... |
