A lot of the lyrical content is some stuff that we've been through where we didn't make the right choice, where we could have made the right choice. | Okay the band said that that the anti mother is a fictional character that they created. This is from their mouths though i dont have any quotes, i have seen it in multiple interviews. This song is about someone getting sick of all these bad things in his life, represented by the character the anti-mother, and him finally destroying it to the point it can never re enter. | |

This is my Interpretation of the song. Its about a relationship between this guy and a girl, but this girl thinks that he is not good enough for her or more likely he struggles with something she doesnt like. "im sorry everyday" " I wont always love these selfish things" The first four lines is him saying that he will never tell anyone his true feelings again when she is gone... no one else will know these lonely dreams, no one else will know that part of me. The chorus he is telling to this girl..she is waiting for the perfect guy to come along and maybe they are both getting old and the singer feels like time is running out in his youth (Jim sings about that a lot) "amazing still it seems i'll be 23" but the chorus is sang directly to the girl. The line " Dont give away the end" could mean he wants to be with this girl to the end and if she leaves him she is "giving away the end" The lines "I wont always love what i'll never have" is him referring to this girl, and he regrets whatever it was he was doing to make this girl not love him, or think he was right for her. Awesome song!!! that is what this song means to me... and i love it cause i can relate:) |
