like this guy she loves is getting into some kind of trouble, like depression or drugs etc and this girls always open for him to lean on her, but hes pulling away from her as he gets deeper into the bad stuff hes getting into. shes saying shes always going to be here for him "i'll catch you if you would fall... but i'm here til the spring" even though hes upsetting her. the lyrics portray winter as the hardship the guy is going through, and possibly the girls' as well. and by saying she'll be "here til the spring" shes saying shell stay with him until he's out of this hardship. such a sad song, the melody and the voice all ties in so well with the theme.. :( |

hm well this is a site about getting the MEANINGS of songs words42 so... i really agree with tally1302 about this song, you pretty much covered everything! especially the first verses which really made no sense to me until u explained them :) it kinda pisses me off tho how almost on every abstract song at least one person has to say its about drugs... more to life ppl! |

geezuz keane recreates this song beautifully! the meaning tho.. hm... all i can gather is that he is in a catch 22 relationship- cant live with or without that person. he loves her so much that he cant leave even though the relationship is taking its toll on him, and this song is just expressing his sadness i guess |

yeah when i first heard this i was thinking what the..? this is keane?? but i agree with k_ro_28, just cos i love keane so much and really, just cos it has a more poplike feel, does it really make it bad? isnt that just stereotyping? i reckon give it a few more listens and i bet it'll grow on u :) |

i really hope this song is about more than crystal meths... i thought carlyy was spot on :) and yeah, i was a bit disappointed with this album, but i think it was cos i loved Hopes and Fears so much. and the more i listened to it, the more i liked it... its much more beaty than hopes and fears, i love it! |

| i agree most with Jingy, he loves someone who's stuck in a rut or lost meaning to their life "you forget your name" "waiting for life to start" but he loves her and is sticking by her, telling her he's here for her and will be there for her when she's better "i'll meet you on the otherside, ill meet you in the light". i think by 'otherside' he's referring to her state as a journey through bad times, and by the end of it, on the 'otherside' there will be happiness etc - 'light'. by 'bend and break' hes talking about the toll her condition is taking on him, the way it hurts the most when the ones you love are hurting or hurts you. and hes saying as long as he doesnt 'bend and break', as long as he can get through this with her, he'll be there for her..... :) | |
