| What do you think its about then, you bastard? To me it's clear as day that it's drugs. | |
| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Uh, no. This is a song of cleansing L.A. Maynard, along with much of the company he keeps, hates L.A. And I think he has somewhat of a religious background. Ever heard Schism? | |

@ Spoojman, I am entirely for not agreeing with everyone else's interpration of the song(eg. me vs. everyone else over "The Pot"). But the actual name of this song "Shism" means the Catholic Church breaking apart. That's how we got the Protestant Churches. "I know the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away" Maynard is referring to the Catholic Curch as the entire puzzle, but then groups of Protestants fell away. |

| Static-X – Stingwray Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is a great song! Gets my blood pumpin! It is actually written about his wife's Corvette, hence the name Stingwray. | |
| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| No, you guys. I wasn't hating on the song. It's one of my favorites off Aenimia! I was just saying that it is what the world really amounts to when you stop thinking about the rules, standards, and other bullshit that human society presses. It, one day, will be flushed away. And yes, it is that my pessimism is warped. I truly don't care about life. It sucks. Death will be better. That's why you gotta join the USMC! | |
| Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Great song. It's probably bout being high on some crazy shit, and dreaming about being abducted by aliens, who were probably just hippies. They talk to him about peace after they're done banging each other, and, after Manyard crashes, he reports that he was abducted by aliens. Now that's some crazy shit. | |

| Though I'm full blown Christian, I agree with what everyone is saying. I love God, and I love my church, and I know that America is the way it is because the Holy Roman Catholic Church split up, and I love the way our nation is, but, I think everybody should stop splitting hairs and just get down to worshipping God. AND, how can you say there is no God if people such as the Greeks and Egyptians knew there was a diety higher then mere mortals? They had to get the idea somewhere. | |

| This song is one of the best off 10,000 Days. I think it's about drug addiction and two people trying to get through it together. | |
| Tool – H. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is the song that actually turned me onto Tool. The middle when Manyard talks about the walls closing in and looking in somebody's eyes, that's probably the deepest part I've ever heard in a song. It's tight. But I think the song is about feeling like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders, then you find a close person, and find out you can actually share that burden. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Bulls on Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Even though I don't agree with the meanings at all, I love RATM. | |
| Avenged Sevenfold – Bat Country Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Obviously about drug addiction, I mean, for GOD's sakes, any of you seen this video? | |
| Disturbed – Indestructible Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love this song (though I think the radio plays it too much). One of the reasons I want to join the Marines. Having this feeling, and knowing you have served in the same line of duty that kept everybody from speaking Japanese and German. It'd be an honor. And we belong in Iraq. How naiive are you, thinking there won't be another 9-11 if we don't keep on kicking the crap out of the terrorists trained in the Middle East. WHO'S WITH ME? FUCK YEAH UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? YEAH! | |
| Tool – Vicarious Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think the song is about how we kill ourselves, not with the wars like the one we are in right now, but its about the human scum that kill each other instead of focusing on a common enemy. | |
| Black Stone Cherry – Blind Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Is this guy black or southern? | |
| Slipknot – Psychosocial Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I hate all you friekin' idiots who say that its the church that blames heavy and death metal bands for every weak person that can't have the nuts to keep their own hate within their limits. I'm fullblown Christian and I love GOD, but the only kind of music I listen to is the disturbing kind, and all the other kinds every now and then. But mostly death metal. I agree with whoever said, "Where's the parents?". But it's not just the churches, it's the populace in general that point their fingers. Bastards. | |
| Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Crap, that joke went wrong, its your address, not mine. I have coming whatever comes. | |
| Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Ganga, I live in a town where half the population are Somalians and Mexicans, and I'm as anti gangster and pot as they come, but I'm still friends with half of them! And guess what?! Three quarters of them are clean! You're the freakin hippocrate, who are You to wave your finger, you musta been out your head. Oh, and TREXOR, they mixed up my address with mine, and I got your vibrator by mistake. How the hell do you shut this thing off?! | |

| IMO, none of you ladies really has the song right, (and if I'm wrong or you allready has the same opinion forgive me, cuz for God's sakes, I'm not gunna get into an argument over it. It's not worth it, damn it. Some of you allready had the title figured out, but it doesn't have anything to do with actual pot, but it kinda does. I haven't heard every single tool song, and I've just really gotten into them, and now they're my favorite band, so, once again, I appologise if I'm wrong. I'm probably not right, but I think he use to be on drugs, as most of the sculptors for any movies are, and his wife/girlfriend had gotten pregnant, and gave him the choice to get clean. He took the latter, and when he came back from rehab he realised his girlfriend/wife was on the same garbage. Maybe I'm wrong (probably am) but that's what I think. And, as in past songs, I think he hints at Budah religion here. Something about "eye hole deep in muddy water", I think the Budhists try to stay out of "muddy water". But back on the kid subject. Kangaroo court could be him trying to tell family/friends that she's dirty, but they know he was on it too, so they don't believe him. She obviously would have been a hippocrate. There's also a few verses in the song "Vicarious", where he refers to himself as a monster in somebody's light, and a few verses saying "why can't we just admit it?", "La la la la la lie", and I think the word Vicarious means watching from a different eye, or something like that. Oh, and the lyrics are far from right. | |
