Taken that the second last line wasn't right in these lyrics, I'd say that there is merrit in saying that Dustin is talking about "Life" in some way. I personally like to think of it as a song about abortion because it's inspiring that someone in the media would address such a topic with boldness The first verse not having anything to do with abortion, I would disagree. The target that is painted could be anything, but I see it as a doctor saying, "tell me what you want, I don't need to know why,you don't need to explain yourself to me." "Flood the market" you know how much money is generated from abortion clinics, and how widespread they have become? "Do it all in self-defence" many abortions are results of unwanted pregnancies, thinking of a pregnancy that way could be viewed as "If I have an abortion, I am saving my future from what could be otherwise inhibiting or preenting me from doing what I want" so I guess 'self-defence' the working without your gloves, to me, is more of a metaphor, than a crude way of saying "wear a condom" I'd say it's a sarcastic way of saying "be careful, you never know what will happen" and "Stay the Hell away from love" to me is again a backhand/sarcastic comment about it not being true love if you are now ready to deal with the consequences of action one has taken...That may be far fetched, but considering the newer lyrics about what "love" means to Dustin, I wouldn't put it past him to be this deep in a single line from oneof his previous songs. All of this could be wrong but I see how the first verse applies to both the Illuminati and Abortion. I mean whatever it is about, it's a fantastic song. The rest of it seems explained in other posts, But the second last line, as I already stated, was wrong...and that Dustin sings, "Don't we all know life is Sacred" I would like to presume that he is defending something in this line...just thoughts |

I like how Thrice takes reference from so many different sources, ooks, faith, poems, life experiences. I also like how Dustin always puts his own little twist on the songs, tat can spark such a divide in people of all different faiths or no faith at all. His belief in whatever is shown through his work and I admire him for throwing his ideas out hat are counter-cultural. I Have no idea of what this song is about, I could only assume that it is about the early people turning from their God/Gods and regretting their choice in the end. "we'll fill the heavens with the poison dreams of men" sounds almost omnisient but also biased, where something/one is looking and seeing men becoming their own idols but the observer is seeing the negative effects and all that man is destroying...but honestly I wrote songs and to tell you the truth I don't know how much thought someone can put into their lyrics...if that much effort is put into on line, these songs would take so long to write! not saying he doesn't just saying if he does Dustin is a phoenominal man. Love his work but |
