Thank you for setting things straight, I agree the portion of these comments are rather incorrect. However a lot of them are true at the same time. Manson is his own indevidual, while the antichrist idea was a very interesting interpretation, I think he's grown far beyond that. That album came out 14 years ago, that's a long time to change a man's perspectives. I don't think this song was even slightly about god what so ever. The idea of the number 15 does refer to his birthday (just like in the song.) and, as another person said, manson is a satanist, a LaVeyan Satanist but a satanist none the less. For anyone who knows much about satanic holidays, ones own birthday is to be celibrated in the highest of ways. It wouldnt surprise me if the lyrics "Yesterday everything I thought I believed in died, but today is my birthday" refered to the fact that he'd jsut been devorced, but he's finally gotten over it. The song continues to say "I don't need you, I'll say it to myself." This makes me almost certain that he's speaking directly to his ex-wife. As it continues, he says "Anyone with half a soul will hear then and they'll never leave me." When he said that, I believe he implies that his ex-wife had no soul, in his eyes, atleast. In regards to the rest of the song, well, I'd love to continue, but unfortunately I think I've already made far too large of a wall of text. For all of you who were interested enough to read this far into my response, I thank you. |

I dont think many would analise it this way, but the original bassist for disturbed left around 2003-2004. I dont know it for a fact but this could have something to do with david try to patch things up with fuzz. But like I said I'm not 100% sure. |
