I don't really think this song is offensive to Christians at all. "I don't want to start Any blasphemous rumours But I think that God's Got a sick sense of humor And when I die I expect to find Him laughing." I believe those lyrics are meant to come from the mother's point of view. It just seems to me that when things go wrong, everyone wants to blame God, and that's exactly what the mother is doing. |

I love this song! Of course, I love everything a-ha does, they're my favorite band and they will always be. The way I see it is that this song is about a man whose girlfriend/wife/whatever left him, because she wanted more. They had everything (in his mind), but she didn't think so, so she left him. Later she comes back, but not for a romantic relationship, she wants to be just friends. She wants to forget they were ever even in a romantic relationship together, but he can't help but remember. |
