Not only can this song be about his addiction, but it can apply to a lot of things. Drugs, self harm, alcohol, suicide... This is such a powerful song. Has me in tears. :[ |

I'm not sure what the lyrics are /supposed/ to mean, but here's what the song means to me: I think it's about someone who loves another person (probably meant to be a lover, but I tend to see someone's friend), and the friend is blowing her off a lot of the time for people who don't see the friend's amazing value and are just using them or the like. And when she says, "My kind's your kind, I'll stay the same," I think it means that she'll always be a friend to her even if she's with the other people. Like I said, I bet it was intended to be a "lover-style" love song, but my mind just sees friends. :/ |
