In a 2008 Revolver article, Mitch Lucker spoke of having his frist child. "Fathers prepare your shields, fathers prepare your shields SLAUGHTER THE SICK Sick men of malice intent who feed off our young" For some reason this comes off to me as a song against child molestors. "And to the heart that beats with my blood, I am your shield." About his own daughter. |

| Suicide Silence – Lifted Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"It's made you weak and shake in the knees shake in the knees Inside, inside your head you're wasting away" The narrator is describing someone who suffers from depression and anxiety. They fear basic social situations, possibly from past trauma. "So get lifted." Sarcasm. "Dependant on this artificial feeling. Poison. It's made you weak and shake in the knees. This is not your reality. This is not you." The narrator's friend self-medicates their anxiety with drugs (a heavier one, possibly pills). The drugs make our 'victim' feel the same symptoms as their disorder would. For a pro-420 band like SS, this is a nicxe change of pace. Anti-heavy drug song. |
