| This song is beautifully amazing. And No matter what anyone EVER says, P!nk is an amazing artist whos music means everything to me. Especially Long Way To Happy. But i think his song is about coming to terms with a big loss, and saying goodbye to someone special i guess..maybe a tragic death? But over all this song is simply amazing. Okay..this song is clearly about rape. Honestly, listen carefully. Its even in an interview that it is, in fact, about abuse. “one night to you lasted six weeks for me” This doesnt mean she thought about it for 6 weeks, it would take years to get over a rape. It means the attack lasted maybe, just say 10 minutes? To the victim it seemed like 6 weeks! “just a bitter little pill now just to try to go to sleep” This hasn't got ANYTHING to do with a pregnancy. It means she cant sleep because of what happened, and she needs a bitter little sleeping pill to get some sleep. "No more waking up to innocence Say hello to hesitance To everyone I meet" This bit means that her trust was destroyed, and now, because of what happened, she is very hesitant about trusting anyone she meets. Trying to cover up the damage And pat out all the bruises too young to know I had it So it didn't hurt to lose it She’s trying to cover up the damage, maybe it means trying to smile when she really feels like just breaking down in tears and giving up. Trying to pat out all of the bruises, means he used force and hurt her, leaving bruises and scars not just emotionally, but physically too. And she was too young to know she had her virginity, so it didn’t hurt to lose it. “But don’t worry about regret or guilt, I never knew your name. I just want to thank you, Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. For all the sleepless nights and for tearing me apart” Meaning she didnt know who did it. She wants to thank him, for all the sleepless nights, when it was the only thing on her mind, and for completely tearing her apart, and leaving her to pick up the pieces. But this song is my favorite on the album..its sad..but alot of people are going to find that it really hits home for them. This song is nothing less then AMAZING. |
