This is a beautiful song and I don't know the true meaning of it. I first heard it in the movie Twilight and this is what the song means to me. Most birds are monogamous creatures and they imprint on one mate for the rest of their lives. It's the one who is their soul mate. The meaning of "imprint" how I see it, is to make an impression or to have an effect on someone's heart that tells them that you are the only one for them. When I first heard this song this past December I knew that I had found my flightless bird and that I had imprinted on my soul mate. Now I have lost my flightless bird, my soul mate, my life and my whole world. I'm so lost without you, my flightless bird. Will you ever return or am I destined to live my life without my soul mate? And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. But who is the lion, and who is the lamb? Regardless they imprinted on each and knew they were soul mates. To truly understand my comment, one would not only have to watch the movie Twilight but also read all of the four books in the Twilight series. But just by watching the movie you can comprehend what I mean. |
