People of all 'religions' can enjoy this music, Hindus, Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, Mulims, Christians, Jews. Because God's truth isn't biased to any 'religion'. Religions are our material designations, similarly all religions act for the same thing: attaining love of God. |
| Norma Jean – A Small Spark Vs. a Great Forest Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'm not a Christian, and I don't feel my 'religion' (Gaudiya Vaishnava/Hare Krishna) is superior to others. The quote burtonsnow845 gave from the Bible is the truth, and you don't have to be a Christian to agree. Also, I love Norma Jean, I love Christ, I love all religions. |

| Propagandhi – America’s Army™ (Die Jugend Marschiert) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sieg Heil! "Welcome to the offices of Economic and Manpower Analyses here at our historic and sprawling West Point Academy campus! My name is Mindy! It is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to a loving father of three (and a champion of the sanctioned use of armed force in pursuit of policy objectives). Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the project director of our newest recruitment strategy; our mission to staff future combat systems through current technologies. Without any further ado, I give to you Colonel Casey Wardynski!" (warm applause) "Thank you! Let me begin with some sentimental appeals to our national myths; assorted cliches coined by the state, the ideological shorthand meant to sweep your private doubts [away] of this virtual training course. This portal; this Trojan Horse that you living idiots paid for and actually helped roll into your own kids’ rooms." (stunned silence) "Oops, did I just say that out loud? Oh, well, it's not like it'’s something new. It'’s just the logical extension of the decades of bilge water that you've let us pump into your homes. The pink noise that hums away in the background while you run the gauntlet we force on you everyday. The billowing candy floss that helps to soften the blow. Deep down you've always known that your children already belong to us so why don'’t you cut the outraged parent routine, shut your mouth and get back in your seat. Your children already belong to us. What are you? You will pass on. And they won'’t know a fucking thing but this 'community,' this real life Ender'’s Game. Forget what you think you know." |

| mewithoutYou – January 1979 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is great, the whole 'servant' concept translates directly from Sanskrit (the oldest language) to 'das'. Which is used in Gaudiya Vaishnavism (pure form of ancient Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism) as a way to show humility, and that by serving people you are ensuring you are minimizing your false ego. Some aspects of Christianity have some links with Gaudiya Vaishnavism. |

| System of a Down – X Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song, is most probably about over-population. "Tell the people that arrive,", the new arrivals to the world, the new generation. "We don't need to multiply", the human race cannot cope as it is with the population the highest it has been ever, Serj even says in an interview, the two graphs going in opposite directions - the oil and resources running out, and the population growing too much. "Show your people how we died", this could be Serj pointing out the fact that even though the population is growing so much, and the world cannot cope with the current population, he's saying that 'we at the current moment cannot feed everyone on the planet, so why increase the population and have 5 kids?' that kind of thing. "We don't need to nullfiy/No need to nullify" could be pointed at different things, for instance contraception pills or condoms, as these nullify the effects of sex, Serj must mean that people need to avoid depending on sex for enjoyment, as forms of contraception still aren't effective, and STD's are also growing fast. It could also be that we don't need to work harder to slow down the effects of global warming, as it is better to have an equal population, instead of a strongly growing one. "Ask your people what is right", most people realise that the population of the world is growing too fast. |

| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Although most of Bad Religion's songs are good, and their critical analysis of Christianity is good, this song is ignorant. You can't say that without religion there is going to be peace. If you analyse history, you will realise that extremists are those who are the biggest hypocrites, and are greedy (which religions are against), therefore start the war. Also, people use the name of religion to start a war as the world used to be very religious and therefore by basing it on religion they will quickly get people to help them support. Also - look at China, Communist and atheist - and they control the country which once hosted thousands of Buddhists (Tibet) - the most peaceful religion in the world. Anyway, just cause many people have based wars on religion in the past, it doesn't mean all religions are wrong. |

| mewithoutYou – A Glass Can Only Spill What It Contains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"The Invisible is seen among the shadows and the mist Before my doubting eyes the Infinite appears in time" The Invisible is a metaphor for God, as many people claim he doesn't exist as he cannot be percieved my material senses. The Infinite is also a metaphor for God. "The Unquestionable is questioned but makes no reply" This is when people question God, for instance "why is there famine", they feel this is God's fault, whereas it is actually our greedy, and exploitative nature that causes this. So the people who lack faith in God, question Him, but He doesn't reply as it isn't as easy as that. (This is just my meagre perception of the lyrics :S) |

| Propagandhi – Supporting Caste Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is amazing, definetly one of the best Propagandhi songs ever. Although it doesn't have such strong lyrics that are down to the point. This whole album is more metaphorically based. Anyway, this is what I think the song is about: "When the credits finally roll for this, the worst story ever told, don't bother sifting through the names for yours or anyone you know." -I think this is basically saying that when this story finishes, don't bother wondering who this song is about as they are not from this time, "or anyone you know". "Unless they were by chance a shepherd king, a virgin birth, a resurrection, a messianic prince or some such childish thing." -I think what they are doing here is referring to the Biblical story of Jesus, and saying that the people in the story are childish - or the story of Jesus is unrealistic. "Virgin Birth" "Ressurection" etc are all linked with Jesus and Christianity. "You can storm the edit suite or move to block its theatrical release, but I think we can safely guarantee that there will be no revisions to the script made on behalf of a supporting cast(e)." - I think this is basically saying that you can complain about all the people believing in it, and I think the revisions bit is sarcastic (he's probably sarcastically saying that the bible hasn't changed as time has moved on and been modified) I don't get the supporting cast(e) bit though maybe referring to the people who support Christ or whatever. "Because history exalts only the pornography of force that of murderers and psychopaths (the rest of us, of course, stricken from the narrative wholesale: a back drop to the tale) as we, the two-bits, are ushered on and swiftly off this stage with the jawbones of asses. No stirring curtain call for the masses. No floral bouquet. No breaking of legs. No recurring role. No artistic control. " - I think it is saying that as time has gone on, that history exalts abuse, or manipulation (pornography is a metaphor) of force, so they are forced to succumb to abuse or manipulation. The murderers and psychopaths are probably referring to holy wars, and extremists who are militant to others that don't follow their religion. "And so in these days, in this terminal phase" -He is referring to modern society, and how it has become the terminal phase, or near to the end of the world, (like terminal in 'terminal illness'), Chris Hannah has shown his belief in that the world will end soon due to global warming, over-population, etc (couple decades? cant remember exactly) "It's all left to chance" This world is very unpredictable he isn't exactly sure when the world will end "A piece of advice: if you're cast on thin ice, you may as well dance." -The on thin ice bit is a metaphor for being in trouble or a very dangerous situation, and the dance bit means to confront it with confidence, be fearless, comedic and you get what I mean. "Do what you feel you must, but as for me I was not put upon this earth to subjugate or serve." -He doesn't want to serve this prison in the capitalist, hedonist-inclining world. |

| Propagandhi – Hidden Curriculum Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is basically adressing the ignorant people who don't realise what their so-called "education" is doing to them. "just take note of where it's from. a reliable source? or educated by force in this hidden curriculum?" People nowadays do not check about where all their "luxuries" come from. Their clothes are often made by slaving young chinese children (slave means they have no choice if they want to live, and so my point is made) - For EXAMPLE. So they also do not check who is designing their curriculum, and the hidden message behind it - "slave away to my system and succumb to invisible burns". |

| Propagandhi – Less Talk, More Rock Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Basically for anyone that still doesn't understand this song: (A full breakdown of each part of the song) This song is attacking the 'posers' or whichever word you use to that effect - it is attacking people who only listen to the music as it is fashionable, they therefore act like they love the music to impress others - generally to attempt to fit into some social group - so you can be 'cool', or to attract a girl in that social group. So basically, imagine one of those people dancing and acting like they love a song which is making fun out of them. So this song basically is tricking them into dancing/moshing etc to a song about fucking really young boys. I know since on the album cover it says "Gay Positive" and then it makes references to having sex with males that you may think Chris hannah and maybe even propagandhi are gay - they aren't gay but they are tricking poser/fake people into jumping about to a song about fucking boys, at a young age for that matter. "I'd like to actively encourage the toughest man to dance as hard as he can to this, my song. And bring your stupidest friends along." - This part is just saying he wants the "toughest" man to dance hard to the song, as those type of people do it regardless of what the message is, and a clever person would initially listen to the real message before dancing to it. "We wrote this song because it's fucking boring to keep spelling out the words that you keep ignoring." Basically because people ignore the message. "And your macho shit won't phase me now. It just makes us laugh, we got your cash, court-jester take a bow." This is tricking them by saying 'we don't care we have your money haha'. "Because did you know that when I was nine, I tried to fuck a friend of mine? HE was 8, then I turned 10. 14 years later it happened again (with another friend). This time me on the receiving end." This is basically the main part of the song, where Chris tricks them into dancing to a song about fucking young boys. "And all the fists in the world can't save you now. Cuz if you dance to this, then you drink to me and my sexuality. With your hands down my pants by transitive property." Basically adressing the posers/message-ignorers and saying violence won't save you from humiliation. And the "Cuz if you dance to this, then you drink to me and my sexuality" basically means if you ignorantly danced to this then you are agreeing with his pretending homosexual-paedophile sexuality - the conclusive statement of trickery. |

| Crass – White Punks On Hope Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song basically examines the punk scene at the time of its release - there were many poser or fake punks, bascially people there for the money, social benefits and other things. Due to the popularity in punk at the time, it was inevitable really, but Crass still fight back. | |
| Shelter – Civilized Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is bascially about the hypocrisy of this world and how people who claim they are civilized actually aren't at all. And also it emphasizes on the FACT that eating meat is wrong. |
| Shelter – Here We Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Well it's pretty obvious what this song is about, if you don't still get it, it addresses the problem faced by people who use the name of love to have sex to satisfy their unsatisfiable lust, and how it's better to resist the urges to prevent us being dependent on sex for temporary happiness. | |

| The Weakerthans – None Of The Above Lyrics | 17 years ago |
These are just my views, and i may well be wrong: "negotiations at a stand-still" - I think it is a metahphor for their relationship being stagnant and that nothing is happening in their relationship. "spoon and rolling saucer stilled" - The imagey in the song is about the two people arranged to meet at a diner or something, and basically, the spoon and rolling saucer represents their relationship, and when they he/she is stirring the coffee or whatever the relationship is progressing, and when the stirring is still, it means that the relationship has the died out. |

| Propagandhi – Rock For Sustainable Capitalism Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Chris sounds like he's singing "Selfishest party on earth" (Probable that he is singing it, but he doesn't want to include it in the lyrics to avoid later problems, it fits in, cause they waste money on these stupid videos with no meaning, just so their shite music (NOFX, and similar bands) can go on TV and increase the amount of posers in the world. |
| Propagandhi – Rock For Sustainable Capitalism Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song also examines how society has attempted to change Punk to being Fashionable to drown out the real meaning behind it. | |
| Propagandhi – Letter Of Resignation Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is amazing. Metaphors for being isolated and lonely are used often in this song. The song is basically, a story about a young girl who is finding it hard to survive in society, and she tells a story. She is fed up with society and the way things are run. She subsequently leaves her job, without pursuing another one; She also feels that society, cannot provide what we really need as they are too caught up in useless ventures and money making schemes. She examines the possibility (well it's not really possible), of what the world would be like if society wasn't actually out to get us and control us, and what we would be capable of. First time listening to this song, you get stunned, the amazing emotion diplayed in this song, is breathtaking, John Sampson's voice is brilliant, and although Chris Hannah sings the majority of the songs for Propandhi, John Sampson's really stand out, and I wish he didn't leave Propagandhi. |
