just one way to think about it... | This song is about drugs. It was written at a time when you couldn't talk about drugs on TV or the radio, thus all the Alice in Wonderland references, so you can tell all the straights that it's about the book but anyone who has used the drugs recognize it as being about that. i find it amusing all of the parallels that it points out between the use of psychedelics and the child's story. And I think that is amazing. Also loved fear and loathing in las vegas, and Hunter S Thompson. BTW Drugs are not bad. They can be inspirational. I read "Go Ask Alice" I was seriously disappointed. I was expecting some honesty about drugs and all i got was some propaganda against them written most likely by someone who has never even experienced them. It is a fictional book! And Don't get me wrong I am not supporting all drug use. I do think that coke, herion and meth and those type of drugs can get a hold of peoples lives and ruin them. I have used marijuana quite a bit and I still live a fully functional life. I have also used LSD a couple times and found it to be an amazing experience, and nothing like the horror stories that you hear. (I also ended up listening to his song on repeat a few times while on it). I suppose it could be addictive if you took it regularly but i don't know anybody who would want to do it very soon after doing once. And I have talked to a few hippies who took a lot of acid back in the day and they said that they have never experienced a flash back, and neither have I or anyone i know who has done it, and if we have then it is not as serious as what you hear about, or even intense enough to really notice. My point is if you have never tried drugs (marijuana, LSD, Shrooms, Oxycodone, Xanax) don't bash them. They can be an amazingly beautiful experience. And I'll tell you honestly, you can use these drugs responsibly with out negative consequences. | |
